I woke up early this morning and was able to go downstairs and fix a hot cup of coffee and catch up on a few messages. What a treat! Then, at 8:00 we were served an amazing breakfast at the Mountain Harbour Hostel/B&B. This place has the reputation of serving the best breakfast on the entire Appalachian Trail, and for good reason. The food was all prepared by the local staff and there were probably 20 of us who enjoyed all that was in front of us. Afterwards, our tramily met for an hour to plan out our itinerary for the next 5 days. If all goes to plan we will cross over into Virginia on Monday.
Early afternoon was spent catching up on laundry and just resting. The highlight of the day was the afternoon when I was able to spend some time with my two brothers. My middle brother, David, met me at 2:30 pm and we ran errands for 2 hours at which time my youngest brother, Patrick, met up with us for an early dinner. It was so great to see both of them and I greatly appreciate the time they took out of their mid-week schedules to do so. I wish we had more occasions where these kind of get togethers were possible.
The weather the next few days looks to be cool, cloudy , with rain on and off. Not ideal, but we take what comes our way.
